Confidence is context.

An evidence-confidence score summarizes an automated assessment of support in the available record. It is not a probability that an article is true or a guarantee of accuracy. Low confidence does not prevent publication. Articles without an assessment are labeled “Not scored.”

Reader-visible evidence states

Every live article summarizes what the system knows, does not know, and has found to be disputed.

Known
Claims classified as confirmed or corroborated in the evidence record. These classifications can change as evidence develops.
Unknown
Material questions the available evidence does not yet resolve. Unknowns are stated, not filled with inference.
Contested
Claims with credible disagreement. Supporting and contradicting evidence remain visible together.

The record stays open.

Corrections create a new version; retractions require the full high-risk quorum. Neither action overwrites history.
